In the era of modern medicine Anaesthesia plays a very important & vital role. Advancement
of Anaesthesia has enabled doctors & surgeons to operate upon very critical patients.
With the advancement in this field of anaesthesia the patients can go home the very
same day of surgery. The risk to the life of the patient has reduced to a great
extent.
Varma Union Hospital has four Operation Theatres which are well equipped with state
of art anaesthesia machines fitted with most modern vaporizers and multiparameter
monitors, respirators & respirator alarms. All the Operation Theatres are fitted
with central Oxygen & Suction to help the doctors. Anaesthesia procedures includes
various modes of anaesthesia such as general, regional and local anaesthesia depending
upon the site of operation and choice of the patient and the anesthesiologist.
The department is running a pain clinic in the hospital. We are providing facility
for painless labour with continuous monitoring of the baby by CTG machine and mother
by a multiparameter under the supervision of consultant anesthesiologist and consultant
obstetrician. The intensive care unit in our hospital is under the constant supervision
of a consultant anesthesiologist.
